Industrial 5G towers lining our beloved boardwalk and beach
The Facts You Need to Know
Verizon wants to erect six 35-foot cell towers along Ocean Avenue, right next to our beaches and historic Victorian homes. These industrial structures would permanently alter the character of Spring Lake.
Each tower can accommodate up to three telecom carriers — meaning this is just the beginning. Once installed, these poles become permanent fixtures in our landscape.
Aesthetic Destruction
35-foot industrial poles will tower over our historic boardwalk and beach views.
Property Values at Risk
Industrial infrastructure near homes can significantly impact property values.
Environmental Concerns
Potential risks to wildlife along our shoreline and the broader ecosystem.

In Their Own Words
Why We're Fighting Back
Real concerns from Spring Lake residents, business owners, and community members.
"We bought our home on Ocean Avenue twenty-three years ago because of the unobstructed views. Now they want to put a 35-foot industrial pole right outside our front porch. That's not a small cell — that's a cell tower with a marketing makeover."
— Ocean Avenue homeowner, 23 years
"I'm a realtor here in town. I can tell you firsthand — buyers ask about the beach views, the quiet streets, the charm. Nobody is going to pay $2.5 million for a house with a utility pole blocking their sightline to the ocean."
— Local real estate professional
"My kids play on that beach every single day in the summer. I don't care what Verizon's engineers say is safe — I don't want my seven-year-old building sandcastles thirty feet from a radio frequency emitter. Period."
— Mother of three, summer resident
"I've been the volunteer coordinator for the Spring Lake 5 road race for over a decade. We manage 12,500 runners and tens of thousands of spectators with temporary cell-on-wheels units. If that works for race day, why do we need permanent towers for a few busy weekends?"

How You Can Fight Back
Don't let Spring Lake get bullied by big telecom. Here's how you can make a difference.
Legal Rights
Under the Telecommunications Act of 1996, municipalities can only cite aesthetics when opposing towers. But residents like us can cite health and environmental concerns — giving us more legal power than the town itself.
